I enjoy my hobbies as much as I can, just wish there was more time to enjoy them as much as I’d like to. It’s my hobbies that help keep my mind sane.

Today I’m a work from home marketer enjoy the money I make from my fishing, playing guitar and home gardening hobbies.

Of course making money from my hobbies wasn’t what I was thinking when I started my work from home online business. I start blogging about my hobbies just to share my experience with anyone who was interested.

Many People Make Money From Hobbies Today

It blew me away when I started researching hobby niches, a lot of people are already making good money right from their kitchen table.

I have a friend making money selling the jewellery they make at home. Then there’s Carol and Richard, both poets who started a website together. And let’s not forget JP and his indoor potty training guide for small dogs.

The sky is the limit, maybe even beyond.

Choose Hobbies That You Spend Some Money On

I think most hobbies can make money but I still suggest you only try to make money with those hobbies people are spending money on.

All my hobbies cost me but I am happy to spend it as they give back so much more.

I love blogging because it allows me  get to work from home full time, although it started part time. This is great because I am in control of my time now. I work hard but can take off time to go fishing with my buddies or to get out in the yard and garden while the sun is shining.

I Swithced To Blogging About My Hobbies

My initial online business was selling ebooks with resell rights from Clickbank.com. I think it was about 5 years before I really started blogging about my hobbies. My first attempt at blogging about hobbies was my backyard gardening blog.

I didn’t even bother to buy a domain that matched the niche because I wasn’t trying to make money with it, just wanted to share our home garden learning experience with others who wanted to save money on the grocery bills.

Well it didn’t take long before I realized I could make some money as people started asking questions and even asking for links on my blogroll. I think I was in shock after that happened more than once. That’s when I started monetizing my backyard gardening tips blog and the rest is history.

Next I decided to start blogging about The Joy of Fishing, although this time I purchased a keyworded domain before I started blogging. I didn’t put up any ads until I was getting a couple of hundred unique visitors each and every day.

Personal Recommendation: Affiliate marketing wasn’t nearly as easy as I thought it would be and for that reason I mess up quite a bit. Eventually I found Rosalind Gardner’s Super Affiliate Handbook and learned how to make the most of affiliate marketing.

When my friends start questioning me about how I make money online they just don’t believe it’s something they could do. Normally I just laugh at them. The thing is we all only have 24 hours in a day. The thing is most of us waste a lot of time doing things that don’t matter much and then think we’re so busy.

I love watching TV so much I have to limit my time or I’d have no spare time to work my work from home business blogs. The thing for the Internet. I could spend all my time on Facebook or in forums or playing video games and then wonder where the time went.

I have friends who are very educated who tell me how much they hate their day jobs, all the time, but they never attempt to do anything about it. Make Time My Friend!

I don’t mind people bitching to me about how much they dislike their job. Once they’re done complaining for a minute I tell them about how I work from home making money on the Internet and tell them they could do the same in their spare time. That’s when they tell me they don’t have any spare time. Make Time My Friend!

Start With Something You Love Already

I’m not well educated and sometimes not too bright as I started my first online business showing how people can make money online. I hadn’t even made any money at this point and really had no clue. I was just spewing out what I had read from others. I remained broke for a long long time.

It wasn’t until I started to write about things I know about and actually like. Some of the things I now make money with is home gardening, fishing in New Brunswick, how to play acoustic guitar and New Brunswick travel.

I went from always thinking about just giving up but hate losing or failing so I chose to learn how to make money online with affiliate marketing and turned to the Super Affiliate Handbook by Rosalind Gardener and my work at home business life started paying off.

Start with something you love to talk about as long as there is money in it. Make Time My Friend!

How Much Time Do You Need

Make time and dedicate yourself to learning how to work from home and make money doing what you love. You don’t need more than 3-5 hours a week for a part time income.

Learn How To Make Money First

The first step has to be the ‘learning how to’ process. Learn how you make money online working from home has to be your first goal. This means things may be a little slow to start but over time, with dedication and work, you will start picking up speed as well as earnings.

Working Uninterrupted

If you have a family like I do you will have to teach them that you have a period of time that you must be left alone so you can work un-interrupted. It took a while for my family to get the point. I even had to put a big sign on my office door as a reminder.

Having uninterrupted time works for me. I can get more done in an hour than I can in 3 hours that have constant interruptions. I’ll admit I lost my temper a couple of times before my son would allow me to work, alone.

Well I guess I got a little slack with changing my passwords on my work from home blog as my site was hacked. I thought I had fixed the problem but it actually wasn’t fixed and has reared it’s ugly head once again.

Rather than try to save anything as I had tried the first time, a month ago, and chance having the hacker be able to get back in, again, I have chosen to wipe the entire system and start from scratch. A very sad day for me indeed.

I expect I will post something new shortly, right after I get up off the floor.
